Day Three: Mississippi River State Park, Arkansas

I was ready to leave Burchfield Branch Park.  We had absolute zero phone service and had to drive 10+ miles to text the boys to let them know.  Maybe the dam gave off negative energy or something but I was out of there asap!

Early Morning Burchfield Branch Park
We have never been farther West than Mobile, AL.  We were excited to see this sign.

Mississippi here we come!
We drove over 80 miles through corn fields.  It's amazing how much farmland Mississippi has.  We even saw a dust devil!

We started seeing flooding about two miles prior to the river.  It's amazing to think how much water that is.

I was in awe of how large this bridge is.  Three in one: Arkansas, big bridge & Mississippi River.  I was excited!

Arkansas here we come!
I'm sure there are better pictures of the river but there was nowhere to stop or pull-over.  It's a mighty big river.

After a few more hours of cornfields we finally found our way to Mississippi River State Park in Marianna, AR.  Now I had low expectations for this campground because of the housing project we had to drive through to get there.  But things starting looking brighter after driving though some farmland and then in the St. Francis National Forest.  Then out of nowhere, a beautiful Welcome Center appeared.

The four mile drive to the campground wound through beautiful farmland with cows.  The campground was a little hidden but once driving through and finding our site we realized what a gem!

Selfie of the day!

Our View

Girl M.
While walking the dogs we noticed fireflies everywhere.  A photo could not do them justice but trust me it was almost magical!

Girl M. was playing with the panoramic effect on Dear Hubby's phone, this had us cracking up!

Not two of you!
The air condioner took forever to cool the camper down again.  It was overcast and I was hoping that it would cool a little quicker.  It did cool all night and was a chilly 74 when we woke up.  Hope all stays good.

Early morning coffee view
This campground had full hook-ups for only $34 a night,  That's a great deal and the bath house was very nice and clean.  Girl M had plenty of room and hot water!  I wish we could have stayed longer here and explore more but we must head West!

Coffee & a view.....a great way to start the day!
We are off today to move farther West.  Heading towards Eureka Springs, AR.

Until next time....................
