Day Six: Day Trip to Missouri

The river was low again this morning and Dear Hubby & Girl M went out to try trout fishing again.
No fish but he was able to take a few nice pictures for me.

Google map never sends us the same way twice it seems.  On our adventure to Branson, MO  it sent us over this one lane wooden bridge.  I'm glad we didn't have the camper but it was still scary.

Scary!

We made it to Missouri!  Dear Hubby pulled over so we could get a quick photo.  We were in the middle of nowhere so please don't worry about us leaving our truck door open.  We got alot of comments on Facebook about it and now that I look I think it's funny!  We were so excited!

Missouri!
We stopped by Table Rock Dam.  Table Rock Lake was huge. The weather was yucky but we were going to make the best of the day.

Girl M. had never seen a pay phone booth before.  She asked if this is where you charge your phones at!

Phone Charging Station?

We took a "free" tour of Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery.  I found it very interesting and our tour guide was very informative.  I joked with Dear Hubby that if you can't catch them, hatch them!

This scenic overlook shows Branson, MO.  I liked this old sign.

We went to the Ralph Foster Museum at the College of the Ozarks.  Girl M was free and we were $8.00 each.  Fair price for a museum visit.  We were hoping after the museum that the weather would clear up a bit.

The museum did not disappoint.  It was much, much larger than I thought.  You could spend an entire day in the museum.  There was something for everyone.

Then came the second floor...........an entire floor of Guns!  OMG! Dear Hubby was in heaven!  It was very interesting and overwhelming at the same time.  There were so many guns.  Beautifully displayed and lots of information & history.

Enormous Gun Collection
Dear Hubby does NOT like Bears, so I have to take his picture with one EVERY time!

We decided since we were in Branson, MO to have lunch.  We chose the Farmhouse Restaurant on Main Street.  I have been on a fried catfish kick for a few months and I saw they had catfish on their menu.

The restaurant is small and busy and their menu was ok.  Not much for me to choose from but I ordered the Fried Catfish, green beans & broccoli.  There's not much choice of green vegetable when eating out.  It came with a HUGE biscuit too.  I saved mine for Girl M's breakfast the next day.

Overall the meal was ok, our waitress sucked.  Girl M. wanted Blackberry cobbler they were known for but after we waited over 20 minutes for our check she changed her mind.  The prices were a little high but we splurged since we don't eat out very often.

It started raining again so we popped a few little touristy shops on Main street.  Dear Hubby found this Make America Great Again hat and Girl M. likes to collect shirts from every state.

The camper air conditioner about froze us to death last night.  We woke up and it was 62 degrees in the camper!  When it works it works good, when it doesn't, it just doesn't.  It's so moody!

Having a great time and Arkansas is BEAUTIFUL!

Until next time.......................

Bonnie
