Day Four: Dam Site River Campground on Beaver Lake

Another post about our "DAM" Vacation!  Ha! Ha!

We loved the drive through Arkansas, beautiful farmland, huge silos and nice flat stretches of highway.  The roads were pretty good too.

I did not know that Arkansas had rice fields.  Pretty interesting.

South of Little Rock, AR we saw some flooding.  I think it was the Buffalo River.  Pretty scary.

We stopped on a scenic rest area to take the dogs out for a walk and the view was beautiful.  Had to take a quick selfie!

Bobo is so relaxed when we drive, he's like a limp noodle.

We're getting closer to the Ozark Mountains and the view is beautiful!

Our first tunnel with the old Gal.  I was scared.  I don't like tunnels or parking garages.  But we did fine and Dear Hubby had to blow the horn and scare me!

A panoramic view of the White River behind our campground.  The Dam at Beaver Lake has let water out for Trout fishing and the water level was very high in the river.  The water temperature was 40 degrees!  Too cold for me!

We're staying at another COE campground, Dam Site River on Beaver Lake near Eureka Springs, AR.  We're at site #5.  It's an older campground with a loop and then you back your camper in.  This is the second campground we've been to like that.  It's odd for us.

The site are ok with only water & electric, a concrete driveway and a little concrete picnic table with a cover.  Nice but nothing fancy.  For the price, it was a good stay.  We had to ask for help with using the shower in the bathhouse.  It's a push button that only gives you 12 seconds of water, then shuts off, and you have to push the button again.  Once you figured it out it was fine but at first we were so confused.

Trying to talk Girl M. to get into the water

Nope, Not gonna do it!
There were geese on the river.  Dear Hubby said they were Canadian geese since they were the only ones brave enough to swim in it!

The water was crystal clear, cold and moving very swiftly.

The ticks were bad while we were here.  Just standing outside they would crawl on you, they fell from the trees, little ones, big ones, I had nightmares about ticks on me!

Dear Hubby wants to try some Trout fishing tomorrow so we'll be off to buy fishing stuff.  The air conditioner took a while to cool off again but did cool the camper down to 76 by bedtime.  I'm just being paranoid!

Until next time..............
