Day One: Kolomoki Mounds State Park Blakely, Georgia

We left Florida and made it to Blakely, Georgia without any troubles or hiccups!  The dogs did great and slept the entire way.  Dear Hubby made Lulu a platform for her "new" dog bed and she loved it.

Driving through Cross City, FL they had their flags with crosses along the side of the road for over a mile.  A Beautiful site to see but sad too.

The ride went fast and we were not exhausted when we arrived at Kolomoki Mounds State Park.  I reserved site #9 way back in March.  The site is beautiful, right on the lake and we are definitely going to have to stay here again!

Dear Hubby even got to relax in his new lounge chair.  That's what it's all about!

Relaxing

Bobo loves to camp.  He's watching out for alligators and ducks.

Girl M. talked us into taking here to play miniature golf.  The park charges $4 per person, We had a great time and Girl M won.

Miniature Golf

There's a small dam on the lake making a very nice stream into the woods.  I like looking at the mini rapids and pools of water.

Here's our old gal, she tows easy.  Dear Hubby likes pulling a 5th wheel, less sway and towing is centered in the bed of the truck.

Dear Hubby replaced the A/C thermostat and the air has been working much better.  It does take a long time to cool the camper down but it's also 90+ degrees.  As long as it cools by bedtime I guess it will all be ok.

Our Old Gal

Our Favorite, Girl M, the last baby left at home (to come camping with us!)  She's such a great helper and a lot of fun.

The Visitors Center had a great gift shop and we took a little 30+ minute museum tour and movie.  Well worth the $5 per person to understand what all the mounds were about.  One of the "Naturalist" Park workers invited us to a sunset hike to the mounds but it was still 93 degrees at 7:30 in the evening so we passed on that one.

Until next time...................
