Day 2 RV Repair & Renovate More Water Damage

We found where the water leak was and more...............

The back corner was the place the water leak began.  The putty has crumbles in places and the water was pouring in, down to the tail light, along the corner support, rotting the floor under the bunk compartment, under the water heater all the way to the slide out.

The lower part of the wall where the water works enter the trailer is also damaged.  It's old damage but it looks pretty bad.  We'll have to tear out the lower wall and reframe where the water works (outside shower & water intake) is located.

We are going to look at a matching pair of recliners I found on sale on Craigslist this afternoon.  I know that we aren't ready for them but the price is good and they are located only a few miles away.

I hope that we won't be finding anymore surprises in the travel trailer!

Wish us luck.....................

Until next time...................

  1. Just found your blog, going to follow you since I am in the middle of a camper renovation. Good luck! Did you have any roof damage? We found a few spots in the corners of our camper that need fixed, already basically gutted the thing to start fresh.

    1. Thank you for the comment! So happy to hear from you. We did not find any roof damage on the Puma travel trailer. Our leak came from the corner area. The end piece of metal & the side pieces are only held together with putty tape and trim on top with silicone caulk to seal. Who would have thought that a $15,000 camper was put together like that? The travel trailer we previously remodeled a few years ago had roof damage. If you look back through the blog you should see it. We love that little camper, it's such a joy to stay in it during hunting season. It's home sweet home. If you have any tips or questions, please email me! So happy to hear from you!

  3. Great technology to assist in identifies leaks of RV. To grasp that withstanding technology of EPDM Rubber Roofing application is very successful.
